Megan Miranda, author of Fracture, was awesome enough to do an interview with me. Here you go! Make sure to read Fracture if you haven’t already. It’s a REALLY good book! 1. Fracture left a LOT of questions unanswered, is Fracture going to become a series? (please say yes!) If yes, how many books are in the series? Honestly, I’m not planning on it! The way I look at it: the story is complete. The story of a girl, who is going to go on living. I think anything after this would be a much different kind of book. I’m happy with where the story ends now. 2. Will Eleven Minutes ever be released as an e-book? I’m not sure! I’m assuming at some point it will be available in other ways, but you’d have to ask my publisher. 3. Can you share a couple of songs in the Fracture playlist? I feel like I’m the only writer without a playlist… sigh. I honestly didn’t have one, but I’ve had songs suggested to me by others who’ve read Fracture, and I think they’re a great match: Wake Me Up Inside by Evanescence is a great one for the underlying theme, and Down by Jason Walker could really represent the internal struggle of either Delaney or Decker. 4. How are you planning on celebrating the release of Fracture? […]

Rescue MeBy Rachel GibsonRelease Date: 05/29/12Paperback/e-book384 pages Book Description:She’s 33, unmarried, and stuffed into a Bubble Yum pink bridesmaid dress. And the whole town wants to fix her up with anyone with a dental plan… Who’s going to rescue Sadie Hollowell now? Everyone in Lovett, Texas knows Sadie has always been a ‘notional’ kind of gal. She got a notion to leave town asap , and never visit her daddy (bless his heart). Now, she’s back and got the notion to invite a good-looking, hard-muscled, total stranger to her cousin’s wedding. Better a stranger than some of the losers she’s dated. Vince Haven got his muscles the hard way—as a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan. He’s staying in Lovett to visit his crazy aunt—the proprietor of the local Gas N Go. Before he can get the heck back out of the small town, his aunt makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Maybe he’ll stick around Lovett for a while. Maybe he’ll make a ‘go’ of the Gas N Go. Maybe he’ll rescue Sadie out of that pink dress! *** I KNEW this book was going to be about Vince! I said so in my review of Rachel Gibson’s recent book, Any Man of Mine. Autumn’s brother, Vince was a memorable character and I’m glad we’ll get to read his story […]
Pure By Julianna Baggott Release Date: 02/08/12 Hardcover/e-book 448 pages Book Description from Amazon: We know you are here, our brothers and sisters… Pressia barely remembers the Denotations or much about life during the Before. In her sleeping cabinet behind the rubble of an old barbershop where she lives with her grandfather, she thinks about what is lost-how the world went from amusement parks, movie theatres, birthday parties, fathers and mothers…to ash and dust, scars, permanent burns, and fused, damaged bodies. And now, at the age when everyone is required to turn themselves over to the militia to either be trained as a soldier or, if they are too damaged and weak, to be used as live targets, Pressia can no longer pretend to be small. Pressia is on the run. Burn a Pure and Breathe the Ash… There are those who escaped the apocalypse unmarked. Pures. They are tucked safely inside the Dome that protects their healthy, superior bodies. Yet Partridge, whose father is one of the most influential men in the Dome, feels isolated and lonely. Different. He thinks about loss-maybe just because his family is broken; his father is emotionally distant; his brother killed himself; and his mother never made it inside their shelter. Or maybe it’s his claustrophobia: his feeling that this Dome has become a […]
You Against Me By Jenny Downham Release Date: 09/13/11 Hardcover/e-book 413 pages Book Description from Amazon: If someone hurts your sister and you’re any kind of man, you seek revenge. If your brother’s accused of a terrible crime but says he didn’t do it, you defend him. When Mikey’s sister claims a boy assaulted her, his world begins to fall apart. When Ellie’s brother is charged with the offense, her world begins to unravel. When Mikey and Ellie meet, two worlds collide. This is a brave and unflinching novel from the bestselling author of Before I Die. It’s a book about loyalty and the choices that come with it. But above all, it’s a book about love. *** When I first heard about this book, I thought it was going to be this epic love story. As I was reading it I found it had more to do about Ellie and Mickey trying to prove their siblings’ innocence. Mickey is a normal teenage guy. He works and takes care of his drunk mom and his two sisters. When one of his sisters claims that a boy raped her at a party, Mickey vows to get revenge on his sister and make the guy pay. Ellie is a sweet girl and the sister of the boy that supposedly raped Mickey’s sister. Ellie is fiercely […]
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. Here are my picks for this week’s Waiting on Wednesday: The Golden Lily: A Bloodlines Novel By Richelle Mead Release Date: 06/19/12 Hardcover/e-book Official Book Description from Richelle Mead’s website: Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives. Sydney would love to go to college, but instead, she’s been sent into hiding at a posh boarding school in Palm Springs, California–tasked with protecting Moroi princess Jill Dragomir from assassins who want to throw the Moroi court into civil war. Formerly in disgrace, Sydney is now praised for her loyalty and obedience, and held up as the model of an exemplary Alchemist. But the closer she grows to Jill, Eddie, and especially Adrian, the more she finds herself questioning her age–old Alchemist beliefs, her idea of family, and the sense of what it means to truly belong. Her world becomes even more complicated when magical experiments show Sydney may hold the key to prevent becoming Strigoi—the fiercest vampires, the ones who don’t die. But it’s her fear of being just that—special, magical, powerful—that scares her more than anything. […]

I’m sure most of you have heard that the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout was getting revamped book covers. I usually HATE when they change book covers because I don’t usually like the new covers BUT this is the exception. Obsidian will include two never before seen scenes from Daemon’s POV. So below are the book covers for Obsidian and Shadows… So what do you think? Hate it, like it or LOVE it?I love them but I miss Katy. I hope she comes out in the Onyx and Opal book covers, they have great chemistry.
Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Rachel of Parajunkee and Alison of Alison Can Read! It’s a great way to meet new blogger friends! This week’s question is… Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male? I LOVE a kick ass heroine! Some of my favorite female characters can fight and don’t need anyone to take care of them. Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy series, Merit from the Chicagoland Vampires series, and Riley Blackthorne from The Demon Trappers series. I also like a girl who doesn’t back down like Katy from Obsidian, Clary Fray from The Mortal Instruments series. I CAN’T stand a whimpy character like Bella who is pretty much useless. As for the male character, I hate to admit this but my favorite characters are mostly jerks. Patch from Hush, Hush, Jace Wayland from The Mortal Instruments, Daemon Black from Obsidian, Denver Beck from The Demon Trappers, Tucker Avery from Unearthly and Ethan Sullivan from the Chicaloland Vampires. While these guys can be jerks throughout most of the books, they definitely have their sweet moments when they let their walls down. For me those moments make the whole book worth it. It must of course have a great romance and a good […]
Dearly, Departed (A Zombie Novel) By Lia Habel Release Date: 10/18/11 Hardcover/e-book 470 pages Book Description from Amazon: Love can never die. Love conquers all, so they say. But can Cupid’s arrow pierce the hearts of the living and the dead—or rather, the undead? Can a proper young Victorian lady find true love in the arms of a dashing zombie? The year is 2195. The place is New Victoria—a high-tech nation modeled on the manners, mores, and fashions of an antique era. A teenager in high society, Nora Dearly is far more interested in military history and her country’s political unrest than in tea parties and debutante balls. But after her beloved parents die, Nora is left at the mercy of her domineering aunt, a social-climbing spendthrift who has squandered the family fortune and now plans to marry her niece off for money. For Nora, no fate could be more horrible—until she’s nearly kidnapped by an army of walking corpses. But fate is just getting started with Nora. Catapulted from her world of drawing-room civility, she’s suddenly gunning down ravenous zombies alongside mysterious black-clad commandos and confronting “The Laz,” a fatal virus that raises the dead—and hell along with them. Hardly ideal circumstances. Then Nora meets Bram Griswold, a young soldier who is brave, handsome, noble . . . and dead. But as […]
Yesterday the CW network picked up three new hourlong drama shows including The Selection from Vampire Diaries producers Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain. The Selection will be an adaptation based on Kiera Cass’s upcoming trilogy. The Selection book will be relased April 24, 2012. Who knows when the TV show will premiere but I hope it’s soon. I hope they pick up many more YA books to develop into TV shows! Although I wish they would have picked up Cynthia Hand’s Uneathly series, I will still be tuning in to watch The Selction, what about you? The SelectionBy Kiera CassRelease Date: 04/24/12Hardcover/e-book352 pages Book Description from Amazon: For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon. But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks. Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the […]
Mesmerize: A Mystyx Novel By Artist Arthur Release Date: 01/24/12 Paperback/e-book 256 pages Book Description from Amazon: You can’t move forward until you deal with the past… Starting over is nothing new to diplomat’s daughter Lindsey Yi. She’s grown up changing schools the way other girls change clothes. Still, moving to Lincoln, Connecticut, is different. Although she’s still reeling from the loss of her parents in an accident, Lindsey is finally in a place that feels like home. Because here, Lindsey’s ability to read other people’s thoughts doesn’t make her weird. It makes her one of the Mystyx. When Dylan Murphy—hot, popular and a senior—starts to notice her, things get serious, fast. But even as she’s figuring out how she really feels, the Mystyx realize that they’re not the only supernaturals in town. There are other gifted teens who have different motives. And they are hoping to get close enough to the Mystyx to convert them—and the world—to Darkness.… ***Copy received from publisher for review*** So I didn’t realize that this book was actually the 4th book in the Mystyx series until I had already started reading it. I know, I know-bad blogger! But to be fair the Amazon description doesn’t mention anything about it being part of a series. Anyway, the book was not confusing and it gave background information throughout the […]
