February Favorites: Boho Beautiful, Fountain Pens & New Haircut!

Unfortunately, I also spent most of February sick but I’m finally better so I’m gonna try to forget about all the sickness and focus on the stuff I liked in February. Besides it being my daughter’s 10th birthday and my mom’s birthday, it felt like February was so busy and went by so fast. I had a few new favorites that I’m excited to share with you guys. Be sure to let me know some of your favorites.

Boho Beautiful Workouts
Since I was sick, I wasn’t able to do my PIIT28 workouts which are very cardio heavy but I still wanted to workout when I was feeling better. I found Boho Beautiful in January and have been loving her videos. She does Pilates, Yoga, Cardio and Meditation videos and I love doing her Pilates, Yoga and Yogalates workouts. I love that I don’t feel like my heart is gonna explode and like I can’t breathe, but I definitely feel the workout in my muscles and work up a sweat. I’m doing the above 21 day pilates challenge above as well as a mix of her other yoga/pilates videos every day.  Here are a few of my other favorites:

Emerald of Chivor Bottled Ink
Do you guys see how pretty this ink is??? The main color is this teal color but it has accents of gold and maroon which make for a really pretty colored ink.

Pilot Deep Pink Bottled Ink
Another ink that I got for my fountain pens. Of course I had to go with a dark pink color!

Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen
I didn’t want to get a pen that was too pricey and the reviews for this Pilot Metropolitan Pen are amazing and it’s only $13.  I got one in black and loved it so much that I got another one in silver. I love using these pens and I’ve been using cursive a lot with them, which is a big deal for me since I used to hate cursive.

Wet n’Wild MegaSlim Eyeliner

I’ve been using the Kat Von D eyeliner for over a year and while I love it, it’s also pricey ($18). I’ve been loving a no eyeliner look lately so after my last eyeliner ran out, I didn’t want to spend another $20 on a new eyeliner. Since I love Wet n’Wild I tried their new skinny eyeliner which I love, and it’s only $5!

Wet n’ Wild Photofocus Pressed Powder
I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a big fan of foundation and love to wear powders instead to cover up my redness and even out my complexion. I’ve been loving and using this $5 pressed powder lately, it gives me just the right amount of light coverage and doesn’t look cakey or powdery. And did I mention is was only $5??

Maybelline Big Shot Mascara
I hate 99% of mascaras because they all make my wimpy eyelashes go straight down. It doesn’t matter if its drug store or high-end, the only mascaras that hold my curl all day and make my eyelashes really long are the Maybelline Big Shot and the Maybelline Lash Sensational, only in Waterproof. The non waterproof formula does not hold my curl so if you have that problem, they the waterproof formula of your favorite mascara (or a new mascara). I love this so much that I have been skipping the eyeliner because I love the way my eyelashes look on their own.

YSL Black Opium
This is actually my first perfume, I never used to wear perfumes because I am so sensitive to smells but I started getting samples from Sephora everytime I bought something and there were a few I really liked. After using up a few samples of this YSL Black Opium I ordered a rollerball. They accidentally sent me the bigger size so yay for me, I love this scent!

New Haircut!
I wanted to get my hair cut last month but I didn’t want to waste over $100 just to get my hair cut/colored. I  started watching some youtube videos on how to give yourself a bob haircut and I went ahead and did it myself and I love it. I have been cutting my own hair for years, but it’s usually just a trim or cutting off a few inches. Giving myself a chin/shoulder length bob was definitely a new for me.

That’s it for my February favorites, let me know what books and other non-book related items were your favorite last month!

  • Wow that pen/ink set is BEAUTIFUL. Thanks for sharing the yoga videos! I hate exercise but I LOVE pilates and yoga!

    • I feel so fancy when I use that ink 🙂
I hate cardio but I do love yoga and pilates, I find I don’t dread it or find excuses to do it ‘later’ when it’s pilates or yoga.

  • Thanks for sharing, Nereyda! I need that Wet N’ Wild eye liner. So cheap!

  • I love how you always have a mix of favourites. I think the workout videos looks and sound great, I am very good at finding excuses not to exercise so low cardio workouts sound good to me. And those pen inks are absolutely stunning! I am very jealous I would just want to sit and write all the things just to see them on paper. And I am always on the hunt for new mascara suggestions (I can never find one that works just right with my lashes, I either end up with spider lashes or I question if the mascara has even done anything) so I am totally buying the Maybelline one, I can justify a high street buy when it comes to make up. I also never even thought of cutting my own hair, you are brave and I want pictures.

    • I despise cardio. I will find any excuse to do my workouts ‘later’ if it’s cardio. With these, I just do them cause I won’t be all out of breath, stupid tired or gross sweaty after but I still get a good workout in. I never knew how much arm strength you use for yoga and pilates is great for your core.
I was so nervous about the hair but I love it 🙂

  • Wow! That is amazing that you cut your own hair! Go you! I know it’s so expensive to have it done.

    • I was so nervous but I loved the way it came out, and I saved some $$$

  • Black Opium is a favourite of mine too 🙂

    xo, Liz

  • kindlemom1

I can’t believe you can cut your own hair, that is amazing and oh my heck, the money I would save if I could do that. 😉
I love your fountain pen! That ink is just gorgeous!

    • I never wear my hair straight, I either have it curly or I do curls so I figured you wouldn’t tell if I fucked it up. Plus, it will grow out eventually. Luckily it came out good!

  • Maybelline is the only mascara I really use. I think it is that one because it is the yellow tube. WOW on cutting your hair yourself. That is awesome!

    • I love their mascaras, well the two that work on me, but they have great products. I figured if I mess up you won’t tell as much once I curl my hair and it will grow out eventually haha.

  • I love maybelline mascara too although I do like urban decay’s mascara as well. It makes my lashes look amazing.

    • Sadly, none of those high end mascaras have worked for me. I’m not complaining though about having a $6 mascara work for me 🙂

  • I always look forward to these posts of yours! I need more of them! Especially the makeup aspect, since I’ve been getting more and more into makeup, but I’m poor so I need cheap makeup that’s good lol
I’ll need to get that eyeliner and mascara! For mascara, I’ll probably go for non-waterproof, since my eyelashes were born curled. Just a bit of mascara and they look huge so yeah.
You cut your hair yourself?! Props to you, my friend. But wow $100 for cut/colored? That’s so expensive! In PR, you can go as cheap as $40 for wash, cut, color, blower, and iron.

    • Wet n’ Wild has such great stuff! Their new liquid lipsticks, foundation, eyeliner, powder and cushions are soooo good. I was thinking of doing a post on just their products.
Wow, I would love to get all that for $40. don’t even have a lot of hair so that makes it even more ridiculous.

  • You’ve done yourself a bob
haircut?! I’m very impressed. I’m scared to cut my hair.

  • Wow, that ink is absolutely gorgeous! Can’t wait to see you do some cool stuff with it, Nereyda. And you cut your own hair?! Holy shit! Hahaha. I’d be way too chicken to do that. Hopefully March is a better month for you!

    • I freaking love that ink, it looks different all the time. And yeah, I’ve been cutting my hair forever, it grows anyway so even if I did a bad job it would either be fixable or it would grow eventually 🙂
