Books I Hope To Read During Spring Break: Help A Girl Out!

Hi everyone!

So I’m officially on spring break, which means I get one week to get as much reading as possible. I have a ton of books I want to read, but as always, I don’t know where to start. In my post today, I’m sharing with you guys a list of books I’m going to be picking up my spring break reads from. I would love for you also comment and select two books from the YA and adult list as a mini poll to help me decide and make life a little easier.

I’m drooling just looking at this list! There some fantastic-looking YA books that I want to get to this year, and this is a small list of those. All of these except for the first two, are authors that I have read before and loved. Island of the Exiles is on my list because of Danya’s book-pushing! I’m also really excited for The Adjustment. It’s such an underrated and original series, and I’m excited that Suzanne Young is writing more books. Coming Up For Air is bound to be a cute read, and having loved all of Miranda’s book, I have no doubt I’ll loving it too. I don’t like to read a lot of YA thrillers because I find them to be very predictable, but last year, I loved Kelley Armstrong’s The Masked Truth, so Missing is one I’m looking forward to reading. I have my fingers crossed that it will be as great as The Masked Truth. As a long time fan of Emery Lord, I’m giddy about reading The Names They Gave Us. Besides Lord’s name on the book, I’m very very curious to see how she handles religion. I think it’s a little sad how little representation religious teen girls get in YA books, so I’m glad that Emery Lord decided to write one. And the final book on the list is The Evaporation of Sofi Snow, from Mary Weber, whose Siren trilogy I absolutely LOVED.

Of course, it won’t be spring break without some romance! I have Elle Kennedy’s Midnight Target to read. I have so many feelings when it comes to reading this book. It’s been one heck of an adventure and I’m sad and nervous to let these characters go after this final book. I hope it will deliver. I also have Sarina Bowen’s Pipe Dream to read. I’m a little bummed that this book isn’t Nate & Becca’s story, but I know that Bowen will deliver another entertaining story. Also super excited for Until It Fades. I love K.A Tucker, and she writes such lovely romances. I’m curious to see how she handles sports romance. Pretty Face & Walk of Shame are both books I’ve read and loved already, but I want to re-read them, so if I get the time during break, I’ll definitely pick those up as well.

Definitely read The Adjustment, I think it just might be my favorite of the series so far, I just loved it! McGarry is always a must too, plus you get romance and YA, double bonus. 😉
I hope you have a wonderful spring break Nick!

  • Oh, wow. So many great titles! I don’t know which to talk about first. LOL. Well, Kelley Armstrong’s Missing looks great and I, too, was a fan of The Masked Truth. I haven’t read Emery Lord’s most recent release, and to tell you honestly, I didn’t quite enjoy the one before that. So I don’t know…but I hope you’ll enjoy that one! I don’t blame you for wanting to re-read Pretty Face. I would too if I have the time.

Anyway, whatever you pick, I hope you’ll enjoy, Nick. 🙂

  • Hmm so many great choices.. I would so read the new Emery Lord because I have heard great things and Emery Lord. I read Literally and it is super quick and cute but could have been better. So my other vote goes to Coming Up for Air. Adult titles would be the KA Tucker book since I am wondering how it will be and one of the rereads. Hope you enjoy whatever you get to!! Happy reading 🙂

  • I haven’t read any of the books from your list yet but I have a few of them on my TBR/Wishlist. From the first list my two picks are: Coming Up For Air and Long Way Home. From the bottom list: Pipe Dreams and Midnight Target. I hope you enjoy all of your new books and have a great week, Nick!

  • I really enjoyed Long Way Home! First book is still my fave though. I’m interested in Island of Exiles so that’s another YA pick from me because I want to know your thoughts 🙂
Pipe Dreams for sure! I need to start reading it soon.

  • Oh Pipe Dreams and Midnight Target are on my Spring break list too! My spring break isn’t for another 3 weeks though…
    Have fun!

  • Ooh, you have some good options here! I actually have read none of these, but quite a few of them are on my TBR. I definitely vote The Names They Gave Us, though! I adore Emery Lord, and it’s one of my most-anticipated releases this year. I hope you have a wonderful spring break, Nick!

  • Jealous of your spring break for sure! Okay, so I know nothing about the adult romance titles so I feel unqualified to vote there! BUT I do agree with Dayna who said you should read Island of Exiles! And I reallllly want to know about Missing and Sofi Snow so… I would vote for those too! Hope you enjoy whichever you choose, and most importantly, enjoy your break!

  • Angel @Angel Reads

I need Coming up for Air so bad! I did a re-read of her books eariler this year and it just made me want to read the next one so bad! I enjoyed Long Way Home – not as much as her other books, but I still loved it.
I am slowly making my way through the Midnight Series by Elle and loving them – they are just so much fun!

I hope that you have a great break and get to read heaps.

  • Jealous of your Spring Break and chance to sit and relax and read. I wish I could help with choosing based on what I’ve read but I’ve only read Pretty Face. I do say you should reread Pretty Face and Until It Fades because I love sports romance so I want to know if that is one I need to get reading. As for YA, read Kelley Armstrong (love her writing) and Emery Lord’s new book because I want to read that (although I will totally buddy read that with you if you want).

Enjoy you’re break and happy reading!

  • Oh wow, most of these books are new to me and I had no idea KA Tucker had a new book out! There looks to be a lot of nice spring contemporaries in your YA list. Have a lovely break, Nick!

  • I can’t WAIT for Literally! The premise is like one of my favorite underrated movies, Stranger Than Fiction. I’m seriously counting the days until its release. I would def start that one 😉 I still need to read Coming Up for Air. I LOVED The Names They Gave Us and The Adjustment. I haven’t read any of the adult/NA ones!

  • I really enjoyed Coming Up for Air by Miranda Kenneally, Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy (though, heads up – the heroine will probably work your nerves), Pipe Dreams by Sarina Bowen (probably my favorite of the series) and ooh, I finally got around to reading Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne and really enjoyed it. It was a lot better than the last Love Unexpectedly book I read and that made me happy. Pretty Face is another fantastic book.

You have much to look forward to, Nick. Happy reading and enjoy your spring break!

  • My vote is for The Names they Gave Us! I’m really looking forward to reading reviews of it once more bloggers read it! I love Emery’s writing but I’m so nervous that I won’t be able to handle reading about a mom with cancer so I need more opinions before I decide if I can do it.

  • Oh man, I miss Spring Break! I hope yours is awesome and full of rest and great books, Nick. Sorry not sorry for book pushing, hahaha. Hopefully you enjoy Island of Exiles! I’m really interested to hear your take on Missing too, because I’m definitely going to buy a copy of that one for my Armstrong collection.
